Wellness Educator Joyce Sunada has over 30 years’ experience as an educator. During that time, she was a teacher, an administrator and provincial leader who helped create and support healthy school communicates.
Joyce currently owns her own business, Joyful Endeavors and provides wellness education via professional development workshops and personal wellness coaching for educators. In addition, she is a sessional instructor with the Werklund School of Education at the University of Calgary and teaches (the first course of its kind in Canada): EDUC 551 - “Comprehensive School Health and Wellness.”
Joyce is the recipient of the “Health Promoting Schools Champion” award from the national Physical & Health Education organization, (PHE Canada). She is also recognized by the Health and Physical Education Council of Alberta for her contributions to Health and Physical Education in the province.
As an Integrative Health Coach with a Certificate from Mount Royal University and a Diploma in Radio Arts, from Lethbridge College, Joyce has honed her skills to support educators on their teaching journey. Although Joyce’s roles have changed since her first teaching assignment in 1984, she remains and always will be a teacher at heart.
When Joyce is not teaching, presenting or coaching you can find her out walking her pup, practicing yoga, watching playoff sports or hanging out with family and friends
