Hali Heavy Shield is from the Blood Tribe of Southern Alberta and has been an educator with Red Crow College and Kainai Board of Education for 12 years. Her teaching and research areas include cultural literacy, Blackfoot Ways of Knowing, and the Truth and Reconciliation Commission of Canada. Hali is a PhD student at the University of Lethbridge and is currently on secondment with the ATA's Walking Together: Education for Reconciliation Project.
