Sturgeon School Division
Coordinator of Student Services

My love for teaching started at an early age. I had an interest in working with others and that grew into a passion when I began volunteering in a GOALS (Gaining Occupational and Life Skills) classroom at the age of 15. After high school, I gained more experience in the field prior to attaining my Bachelor of Education degree with a minor in Special Education. Upon graduation, I moved to Fort McMurray where I began my teaching career, with the majority of teaching time spent in the primary grades. When I returned to the Edmonton area in 2009, I was hired on by Sturgeon School Division. I have served the division in many capacities; a Teacher, Inclusion Teacher, School Counsellor, Vice Principal, Principal and now as the Coordinator of Student Services for the division. I completed my Masters of Education in Curriculum and Instruction with a concentration in the Inclusive Classroom through Concordia University in Portland, Oregon in 2016. I have also been trained in the Neurosequential Model in Education through the Child Trauma Academy. I am excited about this opportunity to share with you a little bit about what I have learned through my journey in working with students with inclusive needs.
