In this math games workshop participants will learn the best math games for using in cross graded settings. Come as a teaching team - 1 from primary, 1 from upper elementary and learn games your students can do together once a week. The benefits for older students are many; it enhances and deepens their mathematical understanding as they teach younger students. It also helps rebuild foundational math skills if they are weak, and it also promotes literacy and leadership skills. For younger students meaningful, monitored practice happens, a sense of school community evolves, a win/win for all. Jane will also teach sketchnoting techniques for recording rules and strategies that you can use with your students. Come prepared to play and learn our favorite math buddy games that focus on fact fluency and operations, place value and more! Gameboard and instructions provided.
