Inquiry based teaching has been emphasized to develop students’ scientific thinking and problem solving skills, yet, it has been a challenging and confusing concept and practice for teachers. This session will share several case studies and strategies of problem-solving inquiry, which have been proven as successful approaches and tools for elementary science teaching. Strategies such as evidence-based reasoning (EBR), argumentation, concept cartoon, etc. will be shared via classroom teaching cases and hands-on activities to discuss and develop effective ways of implementation in participants’ owns classrooms.
