We organize intramurals and inter-school competitions for students interested in sports, but there are segments of our populations that are underserved by traditional athletics. Games are a part of student culture, and can help foster teamwork, confidence, socialization, and empathy in an environment that is both safe and fun. Games and complex and challenging, and the growing popularity of eSports is something we can learn from in schools. These competitions are filling stadiums and giving away millions in prize money, and "cyber athletes" are even getting post-secondary scholarships. And it's not all shooting, shouting, and sitting in a dark basement. Come hear about how we have organized clubs and tournaments, some of the logistics, how to convince others of the value of these activities.
