Participants will learn the "art" of making a Rag Quilt. These beautiful quilts look professionally made, however they are rather easy to make and perfect for the student sewer in Fashions learning the basics of quilting. These quilts are a lot of fun to assemble, from picking out and coordinating your 100% cotton material to organizing the "look" you want. This latest quilting style combines the traditional concepts of patchwork (with a twist) and unusual materials often looked over for normal quilting, such as denim. Rag quilts are perfect for a bed quilt, baby quilt, a throw for the beach or to snuggle and cozy up with while watching TV. This one-day workshop will be offered in how to measure, cut, design and layout a rag quilt. A detailed material list will be provided in helping you pick out your fabric for this workshop.
