From our workplaces to our schools to our homes, there is an unprecedented of conversation in North America on sexual violence. Drawing from two decades of experience as an educator, social worker and artist, Farrah Khan will share ways educators can foster consent culture in the classroom. With empathy and humour she will provide tangible tools to actively prevent and address multiple forms of gender-based violence. Beyond prevention, Farrah will share strategies to respond effectively to disclosures, check our biases and attend to trauma exposure. Using examples from her own work, she establishes a shared language about the continuum of sexual violence violence, trauma and support. Participants will leave inspired with meaningful strategies to translate conversations into action to support people affected by sexual violence and prevent further harm.
